Tuesday, 1-21-14 & Getting Registered For the Open

The CrossFit open registration is now live.  As a Lykos athlete, we think each and everyone of our members should register.  (We ALL will be doing the WODs anyway- so get registered and see where you stack up).

What is the Open?

It is 5 weeks and 5 workouts.  Each week you will be given a workout to complete.  Every registered athlete in the world has the opportunity to participate in each workout at their affiliate.  It’s the precursor to Regionals and then the CrossFit Games, where the best of the best will throw down on the big stage for big prizes in July.  The Open is a event for our community.  We  encourage our members to register even when they balk at the idea. Reintroducing the idea of physical competition to someone often evokes myriad responses and emotions they probably haven’t felt for awhile. We keep encouraging though, because we know the thrill that waits on the other side of diving into the Open.

4 Reasons to Register:

1. You are good enough.

2. It’s healthy competition.

3. It lets you appreciate the best of the best (IE Rich Froning)

4.  It’s fun.
