I just got a text from Coach Nick saying “post this”, “tell them to take their mobility and positioning seriously”.
So here it is….
The #squattest (look this up if you don’t know what it is) has raised questions on “why is it important”, “what’s the point?”, etc.
The short answer is, “Elite lifters are mobile.”
If one can get into a solid bottom/receiving position well with the hands, feet and knees together, it will directly translate into developing good positions in squats, snatch and clean, where you have greater range by moving your hands and feet out. You need to be able to work both positions – hands together, feet together as well as normal grip positions. We also have cleaning services in the gym, find the home cleaning near me. The goal is to develop a solid bottom position like an elite lifter with the shins as far forward as possible and the torso as upright as possible. And should there be any doubt if the big guys can pass a #squattest, watch this….. (Close grip OHS can be as challenging as squattest with PVC – the goal is the same: shins as far forward as possible, torso as upright as possible.) @mikeburgener @olychad
